The senator had, during an interview with a national newspaper (not The PUNCH), described herself as a rookie in the Senate, who did not know which committee in the upper chamber was juicy or not.
The response had drawn the ire of the state PDP who called for her recall.
But the ACN in a statement on Thursday by its state Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, said the reaction of the PDP to Tinubu showed the party’s desperation to rule the state, hence its tendency “to open its mouth on any issue to keep up appearance.”
It said, “Now because Tinubu made an honest admission as a well brought-up child and as a first-time comer in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that she is still learning the art of lawmaking in the Senate, Lagos PDP went to town to ask for her recall because she does not understand the operations of the Senate.
“This is a clear evidence that PDP Lagos continues to be deficit in honour, character, integrity and knowledge.
“Lagos PDP is grappling with the problem of comprehension and for this, it is making itself a laughing stock just because it cannot comprehend the meaning of rookie.”
ACN urged the senator’s constituents to “ignore the PDP and its many rants because they are born out of frustration that it is not gaining any stranglehold on the politics of Lagos.
